Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH, RD, LD released an article entitled: The Truth About Detox Diets. In the article, the author says that:
“...Your body is an expert at getting rid of toxins no matter what you eat. Toxins don’t build up in your liver, kidneys, or any other part of your body, and you’re not going to get rid of them with the latest detox wonder.”
So it this true? Can you really not detox your body?
It is very important to know the truth about detoxing, what they are, where do they come from and what do they do?
Toxins are any substance that impacts the human body in a negative way.
Internal Toxins – Toxins accumulated internally when our bodies can not effectively and efficiently break down, recycle and eliminate waste such as worn out and dying cells.
External Toxins – Toxins ingested, absorbed or inhaled from outside of our bodies.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) conducts ongoing assessments of the levels of environmental chemicals in the U.S. They revealed some pretty shocking results in the Fourth National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals.
On average, the CDC’s report found 212 chemicals in people’s blood or urine, 75 of which had never before been measured in the U.S. population. The chemicals included:
Toxins are unavoidable and unfortunately, we are all toxic! Studies have shown that even Eskimos and newborn babies are no exceptions. Greenpeace, for example, studied blood samples taken from the umbilical cord of newborns in the US. Their research found an average of 287 toxins including mercury that had been passed on from the mother to the baby. Once you experience how great it feels to be toxin free, you will realize how much heavy metals have been poisoning your body and your life!
It is no secret that our air is heavily polluted. Many industries release thousands of toxins into the environment every day. The biggest culprits are the mining, the chemical, the paper and the transport industry. Vehicle emissions pollute our air with lead, mercury, antimony, and arsenic. Even crematoriums are belching out large amounts of mercury from the amalgams in the burnt corpses.
Fruit & vegetables are often sprayed with pesticides and herbicides. If grown near major roads then they could have accumulated lead and other petrochemicals from vehicle pollution. Buying organic certainly helps but we can’t always afford to do so and sometimes it’s just not feasible. But it’s not only vegetables that are toxic. Fish and meat are also contaminated. Many fish, especially the larger kind contain mercury and in the US chicken are often fed arsenic, in order to promote growth.
How many beauty and personal care products are you using every day? Most of these contain substances whose long-term effect on humans has not been sufficiently tested or researched. Antiperspirants contain aluminum, which can accumulate in our bodies over time.
Thimerosol which contains 50% mercury used to be added as a preservative to many vaccines. The use of thimerosol has been linked to the sharp increase in autism cases in children.
Amalgam fillings contain 50% mercury. Every time you chew you release toxic heavy metals into your body.
Even something as essential as drinking water often contains aluminum, pesticides and other chemicals.
Numerous studies have shown toxicity to be the underlying cause of many chronic symptoms experienced today, including the rising rates of cancer over the past two decades.
A statement made by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics claims that exposure to toxic environmental chemicals during pregnancy and breastfeeding is ubiquitous and is a threat to healthy human reproduction.
There are four systems in our body is critical to its proper function. They are the endocrine or hormonal system, the immune system, the liver, and the gut. Toxins and hormone disruptors are like dirt in the engine of the body which interferes with the communication and collaboration between its major systems.

If you have 4 or more of these signs, a detox for a minimum of 21 days is recommended to give your detox organs a vacation.
Read labels: Toxin buildup could occur from using chemical products and eating too many of the foods that don’t work for you. Read labels to avoid unnatural ingredients in your food, medicine, make-up, body care and household cleaning products.
Eat Whole Foods: Eat whole, real, fresh, organic, unprocessed food. The major source of chemicals and toxins comes from our food. If available, choose chemical-free and organic varieties.
Filter your water: Filter your water can reducing tasteless contaminants like lead, benzene, MTBE, chloramines, and PCBs.
Do a seasonal Cleanse: Cleansing and detoxing for the sake of our kidneys, lymph, liver, and other major organs. In today’s chemical-laden society, it’s essential that we detox as frequently and naturally as possible.
Once toxic heavy metals have entered our bodies, they are stored in our organs, tissues and bones. Our bodies can’t eliminate them without help. Only a natural metal-binding agent such as Organic Chlorella or Chlorella & Spirulina 50/50 Tablets can help remove them.
Every little step we take to reduce our exposure to toxins can enhance our everyday lives through better moods, good health, and overall vitality.
Chlorella has so many tremendous potential benefits. Taking chlorella is one step that reduces the toxic burden in the body safely.
In this blog, I will explore the nutritional aspects, proven health benefits, and reasons to consider eating or supplementing chlorella.
On November 11, 2014, scientists found a virus called chlorella virus ATCV-1. This virus can affect the cognitive abilities of healthy people.
We took a closer look at the research paper and found that the chlorella virus will only infect certain species of chlorella.
The question you should be asking is, "what species of chlorella can help you avoid the virus?"
Most prescription medications have a long list of adverse side effects. It can also lead to dependency problems for some patients.
If you are looking to reduce your medication intake, using the right natural supplements have proven to be a great natural alternative route for people living with Fibromyalgia.
